Kava Processing

Looking for any information on how dry Kava root is dried. ie desiccant, arid heat etc. any information would be much appreciated, conducting some laboratory research on some dry roots and wondering if any natural or man made solvents are used in the curing process.

I once saw a picture of kava roots spread out on a piece of metal roofing drying in the sun. I'm not sure I this is how they all do it or what. I'm assuming that the larger growers have a bit more of an advanced method than this. I bet Judd from bula kava house would know
