Kava tastes sooo good hot!

Ok screw what you guys say about boiling kava!

lol ok that may have sounded a bit harsh, but after weeks of having just mediocre results from kava (compared to this), i was like... psshhh... im just gonna try it.
so i got a pan of water and put a cup and a half (3 shells worth) of water and heated it up. now i don't have a thermometer and i didn't let it get to a rolling boil, just brought it to a good simmer. so maybe it didn't reach over 140 degrees?

anyway, i stuck in my pantyhose with half and half malekulah magic and fiji waka, and had to press out the oils with a wooden spoon because the water was too hot to squeeze with my hands. this stuff got THICK. ooey and gooey and like  wet mud..... i've never had it gotten thick at all  from traditional way of making it. now, when i say thick, i mean the stuff getting on my hands while squeezing the panyhose (once the water cooled off enough) . once it mixed with the water it was just perfect and creamy.

and let me say, when kava is hot,  like tea, it tastes great! no bowl anxiety whatsoever. it makes sense.. i mean.... who in the world would drink lukewarm coffee??  its nasty! coffee tastes great hot and so does kava!

now for the effects:
instant head buzz, the most lip numbness i have ever achieved, and just feeling good! i think whatever kavalactones might have been killed from the hot water is not being missed by me.

been sipping on my 3 shells worth, (instead of the traditional one shell every 15 mins or so) and gotta say as it cools down its getting nasty again. need to go warm this stuff back up.

next time i will try spacing out the bowls the traditional way and try to maximize the effects and duration that way.

Hmm, that's interesting. You've inspired me to try this out! I don't think the way you did it was enough to kill the kavalactones, as all of the experiences I've heard of with hot kava were prepared using a simmering water just under boil so, probably not hot enough to destroy the good stuff, but possible hot enough to do a hell of a lot more extracting? Would make sense I guess.

Never thought hot kava would taste "good" though heh, thanks for sharing your experience! Whenever I break off my laziness and decide to try it out, I'll let ya know how it goes ;)

for real, try it. it def helped with extraction because it was OILY. i mean really oily.

and when i say tasted good, i don't mean like it tasted wonderful, but it wasn't unpleasant at all. tasted kinda like a wild herb tea. never drinking lukewarm kava again. yuck.

let me know what you think when you try it.

problem is you have to sip it, like coffee. so the effects are instant but not as long lasting as spacing it out.

yep after reading that, i think that is what i did that first night i tried it. def could tell that it extracted better, but i simply just enjoy the taste better too. mine was a magic/waka mix. not sure if stone has a strong taste though...
