Lethargy and depression after drinking kava for several days

Has anyone noticed that after drinking kava for several days, you become lethargic and depressed? It seems this might be the case with me, but it could be just coincidental.

SO - in my limited experience that can happen therefore I don't think it is coincidental. Everyone's body responds a bit different. In my extensive research I have seen many say that they drink it every day and have done so for years without noticing any depression or lethargy. I've also seen many who say that it most certainly can lead to at the very least a little lethargy after multiple days.

Speaking personally, anything beyond 2 days in a row these days does tend to leave me a bit lethargic and unmotivated on the 3rd or 4th day. So I tend to limit myself to 1 or 2 days - usually on the weekends.

The key is moderation. Back in the day I drank a pound in 3-4 days the extreme lethargy would happen a lot, after. Over the last few years, specially with prices on the rise. I find a 1st wash throughout the morning (for me, your times will vary) and maybe a second wash after work is more than enough to stay rooted and relaxed all day long. The right kava helps, it is not a one type fits all, so maybe experiment with different types, dial in what suits you and don't go heavy on it or you can pay the price later. :D

I still occasionally go a bit heavy once or twice a month on weekends, but I go into it knowing full well I have a day or two to recover and be ready by Monday. Again, depends on your life, routine, etc.

Stay hydrated, specially on heavy days. Water is not enough, keep some coconut water, electrolyte drink mix or Pedialyte handy for those heavy times.
