Trying to get a friend to try kava but he takes Lisinopril. Are there any known interactions with Lisinopril and kava? Doing a little research, it says Lisinopril is not metabolized by the liver. I think more information is necessary if anyone here can point the way.

"Lisinopril does not undergo metabolism and is excreted entirely unchanged into the urine. On multiple dosing lisinopril has an effective half-life of accumulation of 12.6 hours. The clearance of lisinopril in healthy subjects is approximately 50 ml/min."

There shouldn't be any metabolic interactions.

Many thanks! I was looking in the right places it sounds like. The link, while getting very technical, generally supports the research I found that Lisonopril doesn't have any liver metabolism.

kava has diuretic properties, it should not be taken with diuretic drugs such as acetazolamide, amiloride, or furosemide or with angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors such as benazepril, captopril, lisinopril, quinapril, or ramipril.
