Looking for potent kava

Kava Curious
I'm making a second thread, sorry! Ok, so I've been reading a lot on kava for the past 2 weeks, and I still don't know what to order. People here have suggested I try Nakamal At Home's Shaman Instant and Bula Kava House's Instant Green, but Nakamal don't ship to Canada and Bula Kava House are out of stock. I've heard that you can't really get "krunked" with instants and extracts... So I guess I'll have to go through the trouble of straining it? What root powder would you suggest then? What I'm looking for is anxiolytic and euphoric properties. Something close to being drunk. And I hate nausea!! Thanks!

If you can afford 60$ a pound then get nambawan from bula kava house. If you want something cheaper then

Check out kavabyrex.com their Fiji waka is great. You could also give BKH boroguru a go

I'm exited as hell about this! How "strong" is it though... Is it still pleasurable? I can get 0.55 lbs for $30, how many servings is that?

Well how strong is pleasurable? It depends what you're looking for and why.
I think Paradise Hawaiian is pleasurable but I wouldn't call it "strong". It's...potent. Wow kava from Nakamal at home is "strong" but I personally wouldn't call it pleasurable.

it's a strong euphoria kava. So it's all in the head. And that all depends on you. I have gone through a kilo in like 16 days from drinking nearly 9-10 tablespoons a night. So it's really just your personal opinion and how much you use. You can probably get a good number of servings from 4 tablespoons and if you feel you need your medication a bit stronger, than bump it up to 6

Thanks homie. I ordered half a pound, I'll see how I like it. Like I said before K@ did 0 euphoria for me even though it was supposed to be euphoric, so hopefully this will be better. Now I need to find a strain bag...

Big Thier- I'm the owner of BKH, thanks for the order. You're gonna love Nambawan. It is the second strongest dry root kava I've ever tried (First being a PNG strain we have been sampling and will be carrying shortly). We also have two types of strainer bags available. Most people like the Fijian style, they're a little spendier than the muslin bags that we also sell but a $6 investment will last quite a while.

Regarding mixing ratios: I think it's great Krunkedout can get multiple servings of kava that is strong enough to do anything out of 4 tablespoons of root, but be aware, that is not normal. Feel free to start there just in case you're extra sensitive (it would definitely save you some money in the long run). My guess though is that you'll have to use more than that for your desired effect. The average for people to get a strong enough grog out of any dry root seems to be 1 part kava to about 4 parts water. Everyone is different and you may be one of the lucky few that can measure their kava by the tablespoon, but most of us talk in cups.

Enjoy!

Ate Judd speaks the truth. Some people make one cup kava to two cups water. I tried it once, but in my honest opinion it wasn't that much stronger for me than my nightly half cup root to three cups water. It was strong, but not worth doin every night. And I like to medicate nightly lol. You'll find a few folks on hear that do one cup root, but I think most of them do less than that

Alright man, so how many cups of powder do you recommend? How many times can I get krunked with 0.55 lbs... Thanks.

I think going with what I have found to be the average ratio for most people to make a sufficiently strong drink would be a good place to start. Try one part kava to four parts water, follow the instructions well, especially with the soaking and kneading the mixture, and drink two 8 oz. servings. That would mean you would use a half cup of root to two cups of water. That should give you a solid effect. In the future you can always drink more or use a higher root to water ratio if you want a stronger effect. I would guess that using this ratio would get you about 16 total servings of nice strong kava. Everybody is different though so we really don't know how sensitive you'll be. Drink kava on a empty stomach and follow sessions with some hot herbal tea for best effect.

Thanks. One last question, is nausea common with this root powder? I'm scared of drinking the whole thing and then throwing it all up.

gdm- If anyone knows kava it's the Ni-Vanuatu, and they often drink tea after kava, or sometimes have a small warm meal. Not sure about the science behind it, or even if there is any, but traditional thought says that it increases effects. I only say herbal tea because I'm not in love with the kava/caffeine combo. Any tea will do. Worth noting though that we have some regular customers at the kava bar who drink kava and a strong black tea that we sell in the same session. They call it a "hippie speed ball."

Big Thier- Nausea is not common with Nambawan. My advice is to just take it easy at first. Have a shell, wait 10 or 15 minutes before having another. As long as you give it some time before servings you'll know if you're ever approaching that line.

Let us know how u like the nambawan. It's one of my all time fav kava's, probably just second to stone. Judd's kava is some of the best and most potent kava on the market today.
