Making your own kava chocolate

Hi folks,
I decided to try the kava chocolate recipe on this page: http://kava.guru/getting-started/cook-with-kava-kava/

But instead of one tbsp of kava, I used two tbsp of kava and two tbsp of oil, and 225 grams of dark chocolate. It made about 10 smallish ice cube shapes. It's currently hardening in the freezer, so I'll see how it turns out. I figure, if I'm going to get myself to eat chocolate, it might as well have some kava in it. I wonder if it will be comparable to kava candy in the stores? And whether the effects are worth using the kava compared to the traditional method? I figured for 2 tbsps it was worth a try.

No. Kava candy is made with extract, which is the only viable way I can see of cooking with kava. Powdered root just requires too much to be active.

I used micronized in some fudge that was posted here a while back. It's just not worth making anything with kava, really. Pretty much with anything you do, it's just not going to cover up the nasty taste.
