Kava Preparation Micronized in milk for different effects

CentaurianSlug

My waka's got makas but still "rakas"
Does anyone else mix their micronized in milk? I notice a heavier effect when I mix into milk and a headier effect when mixed with water. This has been the case with 4 types of micronized I've tried. I've now started with a couple of water mixes followed by one or two milk mixes. Ahhh... beautiful place.

Probably because kavain absorbs in the stomach, and milk slows that down causing mostly DHM to surface. Sounds awful tasting though lol.

A lot of folks on here swear by eating fatty foods after drinking kava for increased effect, so perhaps this is more or less the same as that.

I've read on a few occasional that some kavalactones are "fat soluble" -- assuming I have that right.

That's correct. I wonder if lots of kavalactones absorb poorly and eating fatty foods helps, although fat in general slows digestion and absorption.

I've heard that as well and done numerous tests with oils, coconut milk, almond milk, dairy products and soy lecithin. I can't really pin down the major difference for me to be honest. I may start testing again using smaller amounts of kava so I can feel the subtleties.

I do prefer to mix with milk and water then spike with some stevia and vanilla extract. That's my morning beverage lately.
