Miracle berries to make this potion more palatable?

Has anyone tried drinking kava after eating miracle berries or miracle berry tablets?
Miracle berries are the Japanese fruit which cause crazy things to happen to your taste buds.  Sour and bitter flavors are suddenly perceived as intensely sweet.  Some people call it flavor tripping.  I'm not sure if the kava flavor profile would be affected by it or not, but I have a thing of MB tables on the way right now.

Haven't read anyone else trying it. Get some Miracle Berries and tell us how it goes.

Never heard of a Japanese miracle berry.

They sound like the African miracle fruit/berry.

Are they a synthetic of the African fruit?

I'm talking about the same thing.  No idea where I got Japanese, sorry for the confusion.  I'm going to try this noble experiment tonight, although I'm not optimistic after reading more about miracle berries.  It acts mostly on acids.  So vinegar and citrus would be transformed into something very sweet.  Kava probably has a neutral to high pH, so there may not be any noticeable effect.  We'll see shortly!  I'll report back in a while.

As a proud subtaster, I love the taste of kava. I recommend doing things the traditional way, if you need to, and just pop a piece of fruit in your mouth to drown out the flavor. On nights that I go past my tolerance, I use Reed's ginger ale, because it's not only sweet but also calming to the stomach. Of course, I do not have an upper threshold for Fire Island kava. I could drink about 10-20 shells and not have an upset stomach. It's that great.

If you wiki miricle fruit, theres actually a different plant called miracle fruit that you eat the leaves, and it actually makes foods less sweet. Maybe it works on the other end of the ph scale...and although kava doesnt need to taste less sweet... maybe it would neutalize the taste... hmmm id get it but i cant think what else i would use it for if it didnt work on kava

I've tried a lot of different things to change the taste, in most cases it's made the taste worse. I like to have my kava with a couple of lemon slices or even a nice ginger soft drink.
