Mixing Herbals with Kava

Hi all,
I take some other herbal supplements for anxiety since coming off benzos - is it ok to take kava as well?

although the recommendations are fairly conservative. For example, basically anything that can be sedating is listed as potentially interacting with kava. The big ones you need to avoid are alcohol and acetaminophen (Tylenol/Paracetamol)

Also look into how they are broken down in the body. For example I wouldnt take skullcaps with kava since its hard on the liver. But then again blueberries will make you live forever...

I find that valerian + kava is too sedating and makes me tired the next day. Passionflower with kava (at least in Kalm's formulation for their Concentrate) works pretty well. I've not tried ashwaganda at all, though I hear that has some overlap with kava and works well.

Thanks for the advice! Ashwagandha is one of the supplements I take, and I have found amazing relief from it as well.
