need a recommendation plz

Hi everyone...
I am very new to kava. I have a bottle of kava extract from Now!. The pills are 250mg but only 30% kavalactones. I play pool and often defeat myself due to the pressure of competition, i will play very well and get myself in strong position to win but then stress / anxiety causes me to fail (i sweat alot as well in these situations). The kava pills i have been taking do seem to help me not fail as much but after reading some of the stuff people write about how strongly they feel the effects of kava, i suspect i may just be feeling a placebo effect. Anyway, if you guys could recommend a kava that is ideal for sports competition ( relaxed, anxiety free, focused, mental clarity), also what dosage, where to buy from and anything else u think i should know, i would greatly appreciate it. My self worth often depends on my results unfortunately and its just not good for me to keep failing. Thanks alot guys.

First of all-- your first problem is that your self worth depends on how good you play pool.



No matter what kava you take, it won't be strong enough to rid you of THAT problem.
I don't want to go Dr. Phil on you, but no sport should be important enough to make you feel worthless. and kava won't help. you need to address that problem first in my opinion. try playing for fun. if you win you win. if not. you don't. Hehe. kava WILL help you not care if you win or not, that's for sure :)



but a great kava for ( relaxed, anxiety free, focused, mental clarity) i would say to get fiji waka and tongan pride from kava by rex and then mix them. will be perfect:) they are both very cheap because you can get a pound of each for 20 something dollars as opposed to spending 30 or more on half pound bags from other companies.

Yea, i know i have mental issues. was abused mentally alot by my stepdad when i was younger. I need to get that worked out... but in the meantime i really do enjoy pool, its about the only thing i do that i do enjoy. And my self worth really isn't based on my results, it is more based on how i play as compared to what i'm capable of. If i play up to my capabilities and i get outplayed i truely enjoy that experience because it was a great match. But when i dont play up to my potential then i get very angry at myself, never my opponent... even if they got the luck of the gods to beat me. I know good rolls happen for everyone.
Anyway, thank you for the recommendation... money is certainly an issue and i will take your advice. Thx stars.
 
No, i have not heard of I-theanine... i will do some research on it...
I just did some reading on it... sounds very interesting... has anyone tried both L-theanine and kava that can let me know how the effects differ on these?

I haven't tried l-theanine with kava, I think I saw a forum post on another board about that combo. l-theanine is hit or miss with me. I need to take it on an empty stomach to feel the full effects and over time a tolerance builds. A break for a few days works. It's reported to not make you tired but relaxed, sometimes it does make me tired.



There's a ton of natural remedies for anxiety....most so-so or close to a placebo effect.

non-supplement methods involve mindfulness techniques , various books (search amazon mindfulness anxiety) ... does it work? *can't say yes or no*



Also, avoid caffeine or other stimulants.
