New clinical trial results - good news!

Exciting news: 
In treating generalized anxiety disorder with kava, it displayed over 400% the effectiveness of placebo, with over 1/4 of subjects categorized as in remission of symptoms.

Yup, no surprise there for me. Felt it...seen it.

Still nice to see clinical trials represent what people already know. Sometimes clinical trials reveal something the entire public knows, and sometimes they are more esoteric, like kava.


I wonder how long before some American company slaps a patent on the genes of our beloved strains, just ever so slightly modified. And then sues everyone who grows the original nearby.


Right now a few small family farmers around here are being sued by those round up ready assholes.

I think we'd hear an ear full in international courts and whatnot from the South Pacific Nations if they tried something like that. Patenting a cultural icon...sketchy.
