PayPal apparently didn't email their usual 'payment received' notification to some sellers just as I didn't get their 'payment sent' one either.

This happened to me as well. If you sign into your PayPal account and look at your purchase history it will be there, along with a tracking number to keep tabs on it and an option to receive further status updates via email
