It was over a year ago since that smooth, fragrant, delicious and
powerful kava from Southern Fiji's Island of Kavadu came into our
life....and then it was gone!
We kept searching for that same quality and were offered other varieties of Fijian kava instead.
But we only desired the most potent part of the famous Kadavu Kava; the
precious Lateral Roots which hold the most kavalactones.
It took over a year (about 14 months) to secure a reliable source because most Fijians
prefer to drink only lateral roots of the Kadavu kava in powder form,
thereby making it difficult to obtain for the rest of us and also making
it the most expensive kava coming out of Fiji, if they ever decided to
ship it off island.
Our Premium Fijian kava is perfect for evenings when you need to wake
up refreshed the day after; the best powdered kava we offer to beginners
and a perfect kava to serve guests who are curious about kava and want
an easy introduction.

~~ Tasting notes of the August 2012 batch ~~
The powder itself is highly aromatic and sweet smelling. The drink is
surprisingly light colored for being only "waka" or lateral roots (which
are normally darker than the central stump of the kava plant). It's
also a bit chalky and buttery to the palate, complemented by a terrific
calming effect afterwards.
It may be better to serve this particular kava a bit more diluted and very chilled for best results.
