Our premium lawena also comes from the region of savusavu in Fiji. It is the same cultivar as our waka (Vula kasa balavu) but the difference is that the basel stem and roots is used for this kava. This kava comes straight from our commercial scale farmer who has over 120 acres of this variety kava planted in stages.
The flavor profile of this kava is very mild yet potent enough to compete with any kavas grown in the world if taken in heavy doses. This kava is the least peppery of all fijian cultivars and is also greatly enjoyed by the locals.
The kava is harvested at 3-4 years old and fire dried for 6 hours before being sun dried for the remainder of the time to be processed and turned into power form.
