Prescription drugs and kava mixed

I'm fairly new to kava and have heard there may be some issues taking prescription medications and kava at the same time. Is it super bad on the liver to do this or is it relatively safe? If you have any input it would be much appreciated.

It really depends on what medicines you are taking. Kava is proven to be safe for your liver, but it can interact with certain medications.

It's completley dependant on the medication. Antidepressants seem to be fine. My girlfriend drinks kava with me alot and is okay and I know there are others on here who do too.
Anything that inhibits the liver enzymes or has any real strong liver warnings I would avoid. Like anything that sais don't mix with alcohol because of liver stuff I would avoid, or do extra research as to why that's the warning.
Other than that I would say your good, but also you never know.

Gonna have 2 chime in here. It definitely will effect depending on what yer taking.
Currently I'm on muscle relaxers, pain killers, & xanex, every1 knows that 1...
I do just an evening session of 4 hp tbsps Moi. or whatever u prefer.. The muscle & pain killings effects that's attributed is where it will throw off the (Prescriptions)..
but I'm paralyzed, whole different ANIMAL.
Can't tell w/ xanex though.
