Hello, do you know where I can find more art of or about Samoa or the Pacific Island in general, such like these paintings
https://www.schatzwert.com/ad/samoan-chief-and-samoan-scene/

May a painting with Kava ritual on it? thanks
I kind of know where to search;

Look around that site or etsy.

There are more qualified people for historical information, like @Alia, @Henry or @kasa_balavu.

My overall favorite is the block print by Dietrich Varez entitled Kahuna Lapa'au
Reason- it shows the 'awa plant and the fixings to prepare the beverage.
Just search name and title and it should show up.
So much about kava / 'awa beverage, etc. in art and video but rarely the plant PLUS the beverage and/or "ceremony".
Also worth checking website's of--
Native Books and Beautiful Things, Honolulu
Bishop Museum, Honolulu
Also, but not Hawai'i, I like- "Samoan Taupou Officiating at the Kava Ceremony" Savea Malietoa- page 297 of BUVEURS de KAVA
"Marriage of Kava and Coconut" by Moses Jobo is OK but the botany of the kava leaf is wrong. page 82 of same.

For the Pacific in general there are some great early paintings by William Hodges, the artist on Cooks 2nd voyage. There is a large high quality print book available (I got mine for NZ$400 but they come up cheaper) - or a more recent paperback "The art of exploration"
William Hodges 1744-1797: The Art of Exploration: Quilley, Geoff: 9780300103762: Amazon.com: Books

Specific to Samoa there is a great book available that I have "Samoan art and artists" by Sean Mallon, although mostly art from Samoa rather than painting by outsiders of samoa.

If you are interested in contemporary art depicting Pacific islands, I think Mark Cross is an amazing artist.
