Hello fellow Kava drinkers.

So, a couple of days ago I did what no person should ever do. Driving a scooter home after a big party. During the day I also had some diazepam which probably still was in my system.....
Now I'm not trying to come up with excuses. I know I live in the land where it may seem "everything goes" (Thailand), but I'm fully aware of my own stupidity. Lesson learned. Scold me if you like, but I'm pretty sure nobody does that better than myself....

Anyway. I was lucky enough to break down to 20 km/h and then jump off before my bike ended up under a car. My face got some serious looking scratches but there were no bleeding after 30 mins so only surface scrubs. However the sun is terrible here which often contribute to dark scars.

I stayed on the krat-plant for a few days to ease the pain of all the bruises and inner pains. Pretty much felt like after a round of boxing (not that I ever have been in that situstion. but yeah....)

So, now that the krat is gone I simply refuse to use tramadol which is all they will give me. My pain is not even that bad. Just annoying when sleeping. Some people say the most important thing when healing what might become scars is to be hydrated and not stay too dry. is this true? and if so do you think kava is an issue? I Have only had 2 cups in 3 months. But I have a bag of Kava king vanuatu here and thought it might be a great help to sleep (really dont want to turn to benzo when I dont need to).

Just out of curiosity, have any of you had some accidents and then been drinking kava while healing wounds?

Thanks in advance!

Guess I'll have to be a guineapig then :) As long as I follow normal procedures like avoid sunlight etc I think I'll be fine. perhaps a touch of aloe vera after a Kava session won't hurt. But since it was such a long time since I've been drink Kava I think dry skin is not something that would happen right away (even this micronized kava takes me about a month of daily drinking to start to feel dry and scaly)

My hands were peeling pretty badly after a couple pretty hard sessions. Our neighbors cat then decided to attack me, and scratched the Hell out of my hand and forearm (he is always coming over and behaves himself 99.5% of the time, but he just attacks sometimes lol) I kept it well-dressed and clean, and it's basically now healed. I have to admit I freaked out a little when the cat scratch happened because of the dermo, I wasn't sure what would happen. But it doesn't seem to have affected the healing process at all. At least not for me. We're all different though! :) hope this helps! The wounds weren't as serious as yours, though it was a pretty nasty scratch on a very tender, overused, area. I was afraid it'd get infected, but alas, that was being saved for my wisdom tooth. Trying to fight through that now, hah! :banghead: As far as scarring goes, I'm still seeing some redness visible where the scratches were so they are not completely healed, but scabs are gone. If they stay, it would probably lead me to believe the scarring might have been a consequence of having the dermo while healing, but as of right now I can't say for sure.

Also, I won't scold you because I am far from perfect. However, I am glad you are okay and that no one else was hurt.

I don't know much about kava (yet) but do know scars! I had ankle surgery about a year ago, and my scar is much less Frankensteiny than it could be. Keep them moisturized as much as possible, and once they've closed up, massage the area to reduce sensitivity. You can also use a vitamin C serum- again, only once they've closed. Mederma makes some nice scar patches (silicone sticky things), but if it's on your face that might not work. Anyway, good luck.
