This is an expansion of the
Adil threads on the use, regulation, economics, etc. of kava.
I have three bags of kava right now, Vanuatu lateral root kava similar to Nakamal@Home's "Stone" from Kava Kauai, Fijian root from the same company, and a bag of ISA from Kule'a Farm Kava. I drink the first about 1/2 the time, the second about 1/3 the time, and the third about 1/6 the time. I also have over a half-dozen 10g bottles of Paradise extract scattered around various places I'm likely to be.
Do you guys keep "weekend" kavas for weekends and/or special occasions, or are am I talking with people that use all wichmanii on this board?
I know it's easier to be ignorant than educated, because we all start from a place of raw ignorance and climb our way up from there. Some people, such as myself, study kava perseverantly. Some people, like Vince Lebot, make it their life and their livelihood to know as much about the plant as humanly possible. I would say I am one of the more kava obsessed individuals, and the most kava obsessed individual I know.
I ask because there are two ways of dealing with Tudei that involve regulation. One is a complete export ban, like we see out of Vanuatu. The other is sales or possession limit, like we see in Australia for all kava. The third seems the best.
I hate to use a kava/alcohol analogy, but it's one most people are familiar with. There's beer and wine, and then there's hard liquor. I don't think either should be prohibited, but the latter can give the former a bad name.
