Should we carry 2 strengths of Extract? "mild" and "take it while sitting down"?

Aloha guys!
Someone suggested we create different strengths and we thought "don't people just want the strongest possible extract, period?"
Apparently not.

So we're wondering, how many of you would like to see a "Mild", "Medium" and "Dynamite" version of our extract?

Curious minds want to know... (smiley: wink)

I think it would be good to have a "beginner" version.



It's always nice to have things that we can recommend to people new to kava. Some people that I come across are rather intimidated by the whole thing. It would be nice, at least for me, to be able to say "try this...you'll be fine".



The real question is...



Is there a decent market for a more tame version?

I think that instead of labeling its "strength", that it should be lables as what type.
As Im sure you know, some of us like the higher Kavain, and some of us like the higher Dhm, etc..etc
But, there are people new to Kava that wouldnt understand the terms/effects.
I personaly would love to see some more art put onto packaging. Maybe some ink art...

Vekta, people who have never used Kava might be looking for a "tame" version. I've met allot of people that are somewhat scared of the effects because they have never expierenced Kava before.
So I do think that having a tame version would have a market, because Im sure that the majority of people who are new, are suffering from some sort of anxiety, depression issues.
I know people suffering from those issues at first are not looking to get KrunKed, haha.
They just want something natural to make them feel normal....at first (smiley: roll)then they come to the dark side with us (smiley: laugh)

I'd certainly try some "take this while siting down" extract. On that subject I just got some of the 2011 Lemon extract that separated and was curious what was the powerful part. Is it the clear part or the yellow part?

Vetka - We are going to find out if there is a need for the tame version, yes.



endwatcher - yes people are hesitant towards kava and we should know since we sell our kava at Farmer's Markets to tourists visiting Hawaii. The numbing does freak people out and our products are pretty strong, so they numb the mouth quite a bit.

as for the art work, you have no idea how much we want more art on our labels. Finding artists who are able to create Polynesian design/ kava related art is not easy. Any recommendations are helpful.



Carolina BC - The top portion is kava, the bottom is the heavier honey. It works better when mixed up before use. 2012 batch does not separate like this anymore.

I think it's a very good idea, to split it up in strenghts. And also I second on what endwatcher wrote - more details about the generel effect of different strains would be much appreciated.
Me myself, im all new to Kava, and had my first experience with Stone. I got KRUNK haha. And was more after a Kava which would just effect my mood in a positive way and make me clear my mind for sorrow and worries. That being said, I found out that Stone is good for me in smaller doses, for body relaxing and sleeping - but again, not exactly what I was looking for - getting a little 'drunk'.
On that matter. I posted my experiences in another thread and was recommended to try a Hawaiin strain for my desired purposes. In that context I would like to hear what you people think of Paradises kava root for that?

SoulSeeker, I think we can get into kavalactone chemotypes since we know quite a bit about it thanks to testing and technology.
Sounds like a good idea. We'll keep that in mind as  a project to post on this forum and/or on our website.

Are you talking about making an even stronger version of the extract, or making a milder version of the existing formula? I'm all for strength, but wouldn't the dosing instructions be enough to regulate the strength? Seems like if you make an extract that was weaker, you would end up with people just eating more of it. My vote is for "regular" and "welcome to the floor" strengths. (PS I'm pretty much religiously getting you guy's extract now. If you've noticed an influx of orders originating from Nashville, TN. Oh, and I love it.)

Kapmcrunk , we're looking into a stronger version, 100% stronger than our current 2012 batch (which is stronger than the 2011).
How about this idea?

Regular Strength in three sizes (30g, 60g and 150g) with option to get a free sample of 3 grams (just pay $4.95 shipping which i refundable if you don't like our product). This will be around 90mg Kavalactones per dose.

Extra Strength in two sizes 30g and 60g. Same free sample option. This will be 250mg per dose.

Current 2012 batches are 120mg per dose.

How does that sound? Are we covering the newbies who want to relax and not get krunked and also those who want strength?

Maybe have an art contest and post it on your Facebook page, not sure what the prize should be.  I recommend taking a look at the Society6 website, there are some very talented and hip artists on there.  I'm a fan of Rachel Caldwell a lot of her work is really intricate, but I'm sure that she could adapt to something simpler that would work better as a logo, and I think her style is in keeping with your logo--which is very classy, by the way.
