Can someone kindly tell me what the little conversation cloud with the number next to it means? I'm technologically challenged...thx!

It looks like there may be 6 chat windows open, but minimized. If you click the cloud icon, it should show you your messages. It may just be open windows. You should be able to easily close them once clicking on the cloud icon
