Many thanks for all your support over the last few months. We've had a lot of orders come in and a lot of nice emails from customers and friends. These are all very encouraging for us and make us more confident in moving forward.
Our big news is that we are now legitimately registered to sell kava in Europe. We have teamed up with a producer of liquid kava concentrate to sell relaxing kava for animals. Anxious Animal is a product to be used with animals who suffer nervousness or distress during vet visits, storms, fireworks, etc. Anxious Animals differs from most similar products on the market as it contains no synthetic chemicals, only kava and coconut water.
We have found it very effective in our testing and as it contains coconut water, there is no offputting adverse taste for the animals. A few drops, according to animal weight, in their water and the calming effect soon takes effect.
Some may prefer to prepare the kava for their animals themselves and we will, therefore, continue to supply root kava for that purpose.
However, we re-emphasise, Global Kava Exports do not supply any kava products for human consumption.
In less positive news, we have not been able to absorb the latest price hikes for kava. Although Fijian kava prices quickly rose after cyclone Winston, Vanuatu took a little longer to catch up after cyclone Pam. We managed to absorb these prices for the last two years, but they are now too high for us to continue in that manner. These hikes along with the necessary applicable VAT rate (23%) means we have had to increase our prices. We've tried to absorb some of the hit for our customers, but ultimately, we could only do that to a degree.
However, we are reducing the 30ml liquid price from €19.99 to €17.99 as an introductory offer, until Sunday midnight.
Cyclone Pam has also destroyed both Tanna Kaolik and Pentecost stocks, so we will not be able to supply these to anyone. We've had some emails in relation to this and I regret to inform you all that it's just not possible.
As we are, fundamentally, a very, very small business, we've been a little slower than larger companies at moving with the times, so we've tried to make some changes that will greatly improve our delivery of services and may take some of the sting out of the price hikes.
We have a better customer service system on the way and we will be contactable by our own email addresses as well as the standard orders @ and sales@.
We hope to have card services available on the site soon as well.
We will begin a pre-order system so that we can decrease the time waiting between shipments.
We hope that all these changes will help make your interaction with us a smoother and more pleasant experience.
Our main priority as always is to support the people and nation of Vanuatu. If any reading this are unaware of the islands, the movie Tanna is making its way around Europe at film festivals over the next year (we know it's showing in Dublin, Ireland next month), please make an effort to see it and the amazing scenery of Vanuatu.
