Slightly sour kava safe?

I made a batch of kava on Saturday and for various reasons ended up not drinking it until today and kept it in the fridge.  It tastes slightly tart, like it's got a twist of lemon in it, not like full-on sour.  It tastes different but not any worse than usual.  Is there any reason to think it's unsafe?  I've drunk 2 shells and am getting some effects but not feeling sick or anything.  I guess I may find out tomorrow or later tonight.  My prep was pretty clean, but maybe time to toss the strainer bag that I've been reusing or attempt to sterilize it somehow.

Today is the last day I'd try drinking it. It might be undrinkable on day 4 due to that sour-ripe taste. Unsafe? I don't know. But 3 days would be the max I'd ever keep a batch of kava around.

I've kept batches in the fridge for up to a week before with no weird taste or bad effects. Seemed a little less potent though...

The most kava has been in my fridge is 4 days at most, I don't ever notice it getting a sour taste, but the taste definitely changed for me. It got almost, I don't know, like tangy, a wierd fruity edge to it after a few days. Nothing much, just enough to make you go "hm"
