We always welcome the help, a large part of what makes this place work is you guys anyway, while true many post right away for a quick answer without searching, many of these users come and go, which is perfectly ok as well.

A little before your time, I went through the kava lounge and eventually all the other forums and created what you see today under health and wellness, (with 2 sub forums as well as the 2 sub forums in New members), to gather the most frequently asked questions. Believe me this place was way worst before and since I am a little OCD about that stuff, I figured, why not.
Yes, I've come to realize through previous attempts that a lot of people who do that never come back to see the answer, and thusly, my efforts were a waste. Hopefully tho, someone else came along and benefitted. I get it, believe me. I'd be happy to make a contribution though, I've learned a lot and would love to give back. My primary skills are astronauting, Formula 1 driving and lion taming, but I have a technical background and can usually form a sentence and a cohesive thought. So, my first suggestion is a suggestion box, if one doesn't already exist.

I love when it begins with "before your time.." . I get a kick out of saying that to people older than me. Gets me quizzical looks and swats from a canes. If you guys want to actively address the posts, then go for it, by all means. Hopefully, you'll get more comers than goers, as they say on porno sets

You are doing much better than myself in this regard. Due to severe allergies, only pure Etizolam is tolerable to me, and due to the most extreme anxiety disorder and general high level of pain, throughout this horrendous past year forr everybody, my psychological dependance has gone through the roof.

10 to 15 mg's a day, equivalent to 100-150 mg's Vals effectively.

Some benzos have more potential for euphoria, Etiz being one.

Kava can ironically spur a bit of anxiety, it's not so uncommon, but specific cultivar plays a big part, in relation to our own individual constitution.

The KS Borongoru I first tried yesterday, I would say is one of the best kavas I have tried so far for calming anxiety.

If you are committed, determined, have sufficient support, and find which specific Kavas suit your needs best, Kava can unquestionably help you with dependance, tapering, and withdrawal endurance with Benzos, K@ or Alcohol.
Thank you. A big part of it is the fear of another dependency, and the WD's. The temptation has been there at times, believe me. Waiting for L-Theanine and the rest of my homemade heap blows goats.

I JUST saw a vid about Etiz being euphoric, first and now second time. Huh. I wasn't even sure if you could still get it, I know one giant place went under a couple years back. I had some in blister packs ages ago, no idea where it is. Maybe that would be a good alternative to the Ativan which is more of a sleeping pill to me, but works. K@ PAWS depression is pretty bad. Etiz is technically a thieno, the benzene ring is not present, so I wonder if that factors into the mood thing. Now ya got me thinking, thanks again. That would be better than being dead tired.

Thanks for the mention of the Borongoru too. I think my latest bag is of the worst cultivar / chemo for my situation.

I get really bad inter-dose (K@) anxiety, and to some degree, in-dose anxiety. The kind where you can't focus on anything.

I'm def committed and determined. Support is questionable at best, but that's not new to me. I'm accustomed to doing the research too.

Thankfully, I'm past alcohol, so its just K@ at this point. Are there still U.S. vendors of etiz? What I have has gotta be 5+ years old, and finding it is another story entirely. I might have pitched it. There used to be a guy "Eastcoast Nootropics" that wasn't cheap, but legit.

I don't know if I Can still ask questions now that this has become a sticky....
but...
So i know I'm supposed to wait a couple of hours after eating before consuming the kava, but is there a specific time for liquids? I ate 2 hours ago, but ive been drinking various teas and things since then.

First of all a big welcome but secondly I would say that the instant you've got might be too heady for you if you are worried about anxiety. I don't really have a problem with anxiety but heady kavas always make me feel quite uncomfortable and I have had other people say the same. By all means give it a go, now you've ordered it. Everyone is different so you may respond well. I think you might get on better with a heavy kava like Hiwa from GHK which is usually available in instant too. Or the fire island from Nakamal at Home.
im trying the supreme by Kavafied this evening ! That's on the heavier side, right?

Si, crei que tu lo pensaras.
I got these in the mail today :-D The Tonna Pouni Ono took me by surprisde, I was stirring up the second glass when the first one kicked me in the head haha. It put me in a real fun place and didn't make that jump from relaxed to tired.
I'm on the second wash of the melomelo. It says in higher amounts it becomes good for sleepin'.
Would you say it's on the lighter side of Heavy?

The Pouni Ono will get you up and the Melo melo will bring you back down! I don't find Melo melo a big hitter when it comes to heavy kavas but you got it from a good source so you know it's quality kava. Get some Hiwa from GHK if he has any, that's one of my favourites ever.

Hi! I first found out about kava a couple years ago when I was watching the crime drama Unbelievable. Kava was used as a plot device in the show. (I’ll say no more because I don’t want to give spoilers, it was so good, go watch it.) I Googled while I was watching and learned all about kava. Although I was curious, I didn’t start using kava until a few months ago because it’s on the list of recommended supplements for IC sufferers, and I’m newly diagnosed with this condition (painful bladder). I stumbled across this forum on a search and I’m so glad I did. I switched my morning prep from aluball to the jawku mixer, and I find this prep very convenient.

I’m using kava for pain management for my condition, so I need to have it in the morning. (I think it’s very effective, it’s like drinking lidocaine!) I also noticed how great it is for appetite suppression, and I’m quite a few pounds overweight, so I value this aspect. I have started using it strategically to help avoid snacking and overeating. Also, it helps me avoid alcohol and avoid wishing to drink. With IC, I am afraid I may have to give up booze altogether.

The first kava I purchased was kava supreme because it comes with the aluball kit - since it was my first kava experience and it only came with a small amount, I can’t say for sure how I liked it. The second kava I purchased was Kona kava from kava.com. (Before I found this forum and realized they were not a reputable vendor.) I did have some misgivings because the Kona kava website is so old, but the kava was actually great. However, if I took too much (2 tbsp) I would get couch lock, so I started searching for daytime use kava and it led me here. Based on the daytime recommendations, I ordered Kava Tonga from Kavafied, and it’s great. No couch lock, and the flavor is the best I’ve tasted. However, the appetite suppression is much lower with this strain. My current prep is a rounded tablespoon, 120F water, 2 washes. I do this twice a day, first thing in the morning and again at noon. I’ve switched to OMAD (dinner only) in order to keep my stomach empty most of the day. bonus: it also helps with weight loss.

So here‘s my first post! I have a question. I need to place my next order soon. What would you recommend?

my needs: Daytime use, high appetite suppression, high pain relief, low couch lock, prefer delivery within a week (USA).

PS Where my ladies at? Is kava a male thing? Seems like this forum is male dominant. do you think it affects the genders differently? I am surprised that a kava forum isn’t full of dieting women, because it seems like a very effective diet aid. It keeps my appetite low, spirits high, and no weird side effects.

Welcome!

Tongan kavas are great for daytime sessions. Malo Tonga from www.fijivanuakava.com is excellent, as well as the Tongan from www.ofaskava.com

Kalm with Kava - Pouni Ono is a Tongan kava as well with uplifting qualities. (www.kalmwithkava.com)

Highly highly suggest trying Moi from www.gourmethawaiiankava.com

Our number of women is growing. In fact we just started a women's forum here for that purpose.

Hey everyone, I've been a fan of kava tinctures for a while. It's one of the only psychoactive substances I like because it doesn't have a hangover (or at least not a noticeable one, for me, at the doses I've taken). Recently I heard that traditional preparations have less chance of causing liver damage so I got a bag and strainer off Amazon and had my first cup today. The taste was earthier than tinctures but I'm a pervert who actually kind of likes how kava tastes, so I didn't mind. The main thing I'm wondering now is whether there's any disadvantage to working the kava with a blender instead of the traditional way I used today, just for convenience.

I've broached this subject before on here and what I've gathered from responses as well as personal experience is that the answer is somewhat subjective. The outcome is always more potent when I use the blender, but I don't get the satisfaction of using my hands in warm water kneading the Kava root. Now, that might not do anything for you but I find the act to be relaxing in and of itself. So for me a disadvantage is missing out on that experience, but if you're going for potency than you might not even see a disadvantage by using a blender.

Just what I wanted to know, thank you for the reply.

Another thing I've been wondering while I'm here, does milk actually make kava more potent? How exactly does that work?

That's gonna have to be answered by someone else because I don't like milk and therefore never tried it. As to how it works I believe the milk helps extract the kavalactones.
