Ok for a long time I have always just taken kava stuck it under my tongue, chewed, and let it dissolve with good results. A bit ago I started to toss and wash snd notice the effects are my greater for some reason. Does water activitie the kavalactones better than salvia?

I'd guess that you're toss-n-washing more than the amount you'd use sublingually. Also, sublingual would be a more gradual absorption, as not everything will break down and get where it needs to be at the exact same time. Toss n Wash puts it all there at the same time, making it hit harder. You might also have left over root chunks that you spit out when you do sublingual, but they'd have extra kavalactones in them still, if you swallowed them.

I think sublingual kava is partially just toss-n-wash, I'm sure some stuff actually absorbs into your mucus membrane...but a lot of it is just the saliva gradually removing the fine kava powder from the bigger chunks and sliding down your throat.

Ahh yeah it does stay in there a while with sublingual, I chew the roots for a while spit about 50ish% of the time. It half has me thinking of going instant or micro since my lazy ass doesn't knead.

Does anyone here chew dried roots? Like the kind you can get from Kava Kauai (realkava.com)

And if I do does that make it toss n wash? What if I don't inhale? I mean just chew and then spit it out?

Dude, you are just begging to get dermo. Why would you do this when it is so easy to prepare Kava with an aluball and get the full benefit/effect of the Kava without a mouth full of makas. It makes no sense what you are doing. You are going to end up looking like a lizard about to shed his skin.

I believe kavalactones are more or less an oil, so they don't dissolve in water. Since traditional prep includes squeezing the root to release the kavalactones, my guess is that your chewing the root is doing basically the same thing.

For pete's sake, stop using Kava this way.:banghead:
