Tanna Island is renowned as the island with some of the highest quality kava in Vanuatu and the Kaolik Kava strain, due to its thick stump and thick lateral roots, is considered the best of the Tanna Kava species.
Tanna is a very difficult place to export Kava from. There is very little infrastructure and the traditional way of life can sometimes mean that boats and deliveries don’t always arrive when they should but this is one of the beautiful things about life in Vanuatu, the laid-back attitude and refusal to let stress invade peoples lives. This is why we research and test Kava, so that we can ensure Kava quality for everyone's future benefit.
