The blood test club

Yup...I'm a member now.(smiley: smokin) They took about 4-5 vials and I guess tested it all... liver, kidneys cholesterol... even for diabetes while they were at it. The doc ordered the test after his assistant found I was doing 145/90. Hmm...a tad high. Went back today for the results and it had dropped by about 10 points back into the "normal" range. 
Everything came out fine, kidneys, cholesterol all fine. Nothing suggesting liver problems or diabetes. The only thing that stood out was my apparent lack of enough sugar and a tad much salt that is...." eh...not that bad" according to him. I guess it wasn't really that high. 
It was interesting, he was the first medical professional that I have personally met that even knew what kava was.(smiley: eek) On my visit to get the results and check a couple other things I mentioned to him about my unofficially diagnosed condition of Social Anxiety. Yup, he said, that would do it to the blood pressure. He asked me how much kava I take and then he said. "Oh yeah, that's totally fine. Kava has been used outside of the US for years to treat things like that. I'm glad it's working for you". All in all it's another small victory for ye'ol kava root.(smiley: grin)

Glad everything looks good for you dude, so far it looks like everybody is fine. Just reinforcing the safe tradition of kava use! This is awesome. That's cool your doc knew about kava. The first doc I went to told me to stay away from "that stuff" as it was hepatotoxic and "involved in hundreds of deaths" - needless to say I went to another doc after that. lol

LOL at kavalover. Before I even got through your post Vekta I was like whitecoat hypertension based on your issues.
Glad you had a cholesterol panel also, was interested to see if that can become an issue. Another win for kava.

I had mine tested about 6 months backs during a physical and nothing came of it. I never even bothered to consider that kava may have ill effects. I was such a brutal hardcore drug user for so long that I've pretty much punished my body to a dangerous point. I've felt so much more healthy since my kava connversion. Even if there was some ill effects they would pale in comparison to how bloodtests would have come back when I was on dope or on tour.

Tested for everything as well and I probably drink more extract(s) and different forms than most people.   Also dabble in CO2 powder, thick alcohol extracts (not the tinctures) but really good starting material...more prep sources/mixes with all kinds of stuff for commercial development you could say...all is ok and no indication that liver is going bad.  I did find out that I have tons of body fat around my midsection...I trail run everyday and workout six times a week but could never get rid of the tire around my body - now the doctor has suggested:  "just try to not to eat so much fat"..I guess a nice way of saying - yep you got an inner tube.
