So I've just ordered a KG of Borogoru along with a fijan strainer bag... very excited, looking forward to it's arrival!


I was just wondering how many of you guys are from the UK, and whether any of you have had your Kava seized by customs during delivery? How often does this kinda thing happen?


I'll be gutted if it doesn't arrive (although I'm sure it will). I'm pretty tight on cash at the moment and the postage alone was $24 so I'll be a bit pissed off if things go badly! In the special instructions bit on the BKH order form I asked them to leave a note in the package saying "not for human consumption" so it's in accordance to the UK law, hopefully they will.


Also, how long does delivery generally take for UK orders?

I'm in Ireland and have never had any problems with getting stuff delivered here. I've chatted with kava drinkers in other parts of Europe (UK included) and none of them ever had a package seized yet, so I'd imagine you'd be pretty unlucky to run into that problem. Last time I ordered from BKH it took about 7 or 8 working days to get here to Ireland, so probably the same for the UK.

As a vendor, I ship a decent amount of kava candy to the UK. No problems yet and usually gets there within 7-10 days (from Hawaii).

Charlie- Thanks for the order. We ship quite a bit of kava to the UK and have only had one issue. The kava wasn't seized, it more or less just disappeared and never arrived at the destination. When shipping internationally we leave off the prep label so it doesn't specifically point to it being for human consumption, and we call it an herb on the customs document. Unfortunately we are not willing to mark it as "not for human consumption" because being untruthful to government agencies usually isn't a good idea. I'm still confident you'll be loving your kava in no time though. Thanks again.

Oh, and BTW, shipping for 1 kilo is the same price as 1/2. That goes for US orders as well. Just a little secret to help save some money in the long run.

I too noticed that shipping was the same regardless of the quantity. I was originally gonna order a half KG of Boroguru as well as a half KG of another strain so I could try some of each, but the shipping costs went up a hell of a lot even though it was still 1KG in total - this confused me a bit.


Can both half KGs not just be shoved in the same box so the shipping stays at $24?

I'm from the UK - probably had about 10 packages delivered with no hitches over the last few years.
