kava gets bad quick due to some bacterias in the root?

Would the shelf life be longer if the roots where treated with uv-c lights?

If you keep kava away from air it will last a good long while, say 6 months to a year or longer. Ask @Kapmcrunk what the oldest bag in his cupboard is! There can be a problem with kava if it is not dried properly which can lead to salmonella or mould problems but in general it's fine. Anything you buy from one of the vendors here is going to be treated right and tested. To answer the last question, I just don't know but maybe.
