Ahh, the tough life of a kava bar owner and kava vendor. I am being forced to tropical islands of Vanuatu next month for a business trip where, for the sake of my business success, I will have to drink some of the strongest, freshest kava in the world, meet kava farmers, and learn a bit about the culture of the first kava drinkers. It's a hard life.
Okay, enough rubbing it in. I am planning a very productive trip to Vanuatu beginning May 17th to meet our main supplier there who has been providing us some of the best Vanuatu kava in the states for over a year now. I will see his main facility and meet some of the farmers that grow our kava. I will definitely check out the kava bar circuit while I'm in Port Vila. I also hope to spend some time in some villages living a more "traditional" or as they call it kastom lifestyle. I'd even be happy to drink some kava prepared in the traditional masticated fashion. From what I hear they are doing a lot of cool things with kava products and extracts in Vanuatu so I'm very excited to check it out.
It looks like I'll be spending my time on Efate, Pentecost, and Espiritu Santo islands. If anybody on this forum has heard of or seen anything I should check out there, please let me know. If you are curious about anything from that part of the world, especially kava related, I'll try to investigate. Please check out the blog on our websites at bulakavahouse.com, store.bulakavahouse.com/blogs/news, and my personal blog that has kava and personal news indefinitewalkabouts.blogspot.com/. I plan to post a few times while there and should have some great photos.
You'll all be there with me in spirit!
