What about kava is responsible for the heady effect?

Kavain is supposed to be the most euphoric, but I feel clearly during the first 40 minutes. What else is Kava responsible for this Heady effect?

I believe it is yagonin that is responsible, its mainly responsible for the 'energy' or 'stim-like' effects rather than euphoria

In general I agree. It is really tough to distinguish individual effects - but I do find high yagonin (when you have a valid test to confirm) kava it tends to give "stim-like" effects. I try and avoid these kavas tbh. I like kavain because it is short lived. If I over do a kava with "stim-like" effects it can keep me up all night long, and or give me strange half sleep/half awake dream like sleep that is not good. I am particularly sensitive to stimulants. Coffee after noon can keep me up in the evening. So your mileage may vary....
