What kind of grind do you prefer?

For me personally, I like a coarser ground kava, I feel it's much easier to squeeze that way. What do you guys like?

Coarse. For sure. I like to make it traditionally. It's the main reason I like Nakamal @ home's kava.

If you've never tried stone, it can be a kava that redefines "krunk". It's robust to say the least. Expensive but worth a try.

Yeah, I like the corse grind too. Kind of sad that bula just changed their boroguru grind.

Yeah the new boroguro is basically micronized the same way as fu'u. This type of grind is really frustrating and almost impossible to squeeze and I usually resort to just mixing the powder with water and drinking it like an instant. I also prefer a coarser grind. I think that N@H's chief's is the most perfect grind and texture I've ever come across. I like stone best out of N@H's kavas as their grinds are perfect. Just chief's has the perfect coarse and spongy grind and texture, you can wring it like a sponge and the strong pine flavor is awesome. KBR has an odd mix of ultra fine almost micronized and coarser peices mixed in making it a pain in the ass to squeeze but not possible to drink like an instant. I have had better luck squeezing finer grinds with the Fijan strainer bag from paradise it handles KBR with no problems and I'm going to see if it can take on the new boroguro.

I prefer the finer grinds. I want more of the root in me without gagging.

I like something in between. Maybe more towards the fine grind side.

70% fine: 30% course

I like the finer grind better, I don't have to soak it. Stone kava is very good. I was hesitant to pay their prices, but it's worth a try at least once.

I tend to like the finer grinds because you can make your own instants, they seem to yield better and I find the Fijian bag I have works well with them.

I love the finer grounds because I dont strain with them. I love boroguru. I'll have to try the new grind at some point. That sounds awesome.

Sometimes it's actually easier for me to toss and wash with non fine ground kava. Like the batch of boroguru that I have is course and what I do is take a tablespoon or so out of the strainer bag and just throw it in and drink it. It's more like swallowing a pill and you don't have a bunch of powder that sinks down onto your tongue.

With the Fiji strainer bag (fine nylon mesh) I get hardly any 'sludge' effect even from fine kavas like Fu'u, although maybe that is just personal tolerance. They also work well in empty tea bags (great to pre-prep travel kava). They are a bit fine for my Extra Fine Tea Infuser that I like to use for soaking small amounts of kava sometimes (http://www.amazon.com/FOR...in-Dish/dp/B001JP1KPO/).

I prefer medium/coarse grind.  I can't drink fu'u because it is too fine.  Same thing with V3.  If it all goes thru a Fijian strainer I'm not interested.
