Still fairly new, so bear with me.

Here's what I have tried so far, in chronological order.

1) Kona Kava - Meh. I did get some effect, but made me feel crappy.

2) Tongan Pride (KBR) - It was ok, weak to me.

3) Isa/Tudei (KBR) - Did not like this at all. Tasted really bad, and all it did was make me REALLY sleepy.

4) Vanatu (KBR) - Meh. Was not that impressed, didn't do much for me.

5) Hawaiian - (Paradise) - Best so far. Smooth, pleasurable, though I had a wee bit too much, made me a little nauseous. Like it a lot, but it's REALLY expensive.

Any suggestions to try next? I was thinking about trying the Stone Kava, but I defer to you all...

Stone is a very popular one, and one of my favorites. It's a fairly balanced kava in terms of head/body effect, but more on the body side.

I think Paradise Kava's Hawaiian is a high kavain kava, and KBR's Isa high DHM, so you've shown some preference towards the heady kavas. For that specifically I would check out Bula Kava House. I found Fu'u easy to drink and very enjoyable, and their Nambawan is one of my top favorites. Both are heady kavas.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Stone. It's a straight shooter. However, if you don't like sleepy then a shot of stone may not be your best friend. If you're more into the heady effects I'd also suggest nambawan and fu'u.

You can't lose with Stone by N@H. However for the difference in price, Boroguru from BKH is a very quality dry root. I'll be placing an order for a kg here very soon. Both have the desired sedative/anxiolytic effects that I'm looking for. I used to toss and turn for 2 hours trying to get to sleep. After a few shells of these kavas I am out within 10-15 minutes.

Tyler is spot on. Especially with the verbiage related to marketing. Don't mess with the FDA making claims about curing anything. I like saying it promotes a sense of well being, relaxation and social ability. I also agree that K@ should not be sold along side of it in kava bars. As much as I like K@ there are some unsavory aspects to it. S I was sitting in a kava bar here in North Carolina I heard a customer say to another customer who was new. I like the K@ because I'm in narcotics anonymous and it's not a narcotic so it's ok. This places is also frequented by mostly aa and an members. Which is great from a financial perspective but I think you're doing a disservice to these people and to kava on many levels. Tyler, how do you measure kavalactone levels?
