I've never taken Kava before but am currently looking at the following and need to know which I should go for; for the best results with deeper and more refreshing sleep:

Paradise Kava Premium Fijian Kava
Paradise Kava Premium Hawaiian Kava
Bula Kava House Boroguru Kava Root
Bula Kava House Melo Melo Kava Root
Kava by Rex Vanautu 3
Kava by Rex Fiji Waka Kava
Kava by Rex Tongan Pride Kava

Thanks!

I's say stone is the most sedative/hypnotic strain I've come across boroguro being the second. Isa from KBR used to be knock out grade but their last batch was pretty tame. I'd say pretty much any high DHM starin of kava. I really want to try PK's isa as I love the strain and would love to try a Hawaiin grown type.

I vote black bag if it's still up, it relaxes me intensely and puts me out, I fell asleep watching tv and awoke in the same position.

For insomnia caused by a "racing" mind and perhaps some anxiety, I have had great results with the kava candy.  I take 1-2 as i am lying there before bed and works for me great.  It provides just enough for me to relax and then 'naturally' I am able to get in the right frame of mind and just drift off to sleep.  If you really need something to knock you out there is some good kava with higher levels of dihydromethysticin...the problem for me is that using it like this makes me a little tired with a hungover feeling the next day, but that maybe better than not sleeping at all.

Speaking for our products only, I'd go for Fijian if it was a beverage I was making.

Personally cannot handle too much kava beverage before bedtime since it makes me wake up in the middle of night to go pee.

Gotten more used to taking just our extracts right now.

Ditto. I would think your best bet would be something without so much water. Extracts/Kava Candy/Dried Lateral Roots... or make your kava beverage nice and thick!

I've gotten use to it.  But then again, when you're in your 90's, the question isn't whether or not you'll need to use the loo, but if you're actually going to wake up to do it.  Fortunately, when I had that nasty bladder infection in June, I treated it in the traditional way by drinking my weight in kava in order to induce the frequent urination.

There's a video of me leaving the hospital, where you can see how the kava is making me a little unsteady and a little slow.

Dubkava - great, let me know if it works for you the same way.  Just got back from a trip and candies worked perfect every night in the hotel.  I would  basically just fall asleep with one tucked into my check.  glad it is pretty much sugar free or else i will be seeing a dentist soon.

My personal recommendations is BKH Nambawan (formerly Black Bag). It seems to be a pretty powerful relaxant kava that puts me to sleep after a few shells. Not cheap, though.

I wouldn't want to get up to go to the bathroom because I drank a glass of kava root powder before bed.

So, with the Paradise Kava extracts, do they also make you sleepy and does one have to take them on an empty stomach? Also, why does it say in the decription "4th Gen. (Approx 2g per dose)" but in the description it says to take 1g per dose?

And do I have to pay customs/import tax if I purchase from Paradise Kava as I live outside of US/Canada or are packages marked as gift?

Thanks for the replies everyone!

My personal experience with the extract is with a slightly less than half a teaspoon I will sometime "find" myself asleep on the couch. It surprises me at times because I had no plans on sleeping. I just ate some extract, sat down on the couch to watch some TV, and then I wake up. It's extremely good. It can be as good for sleep as root powder can be in my opinion. However! A glass of stone from Nakamal @ Home brewed up extra strong will flat out smear you across your bed.

Just got back from a business meeting with a consultant where we discussed a new website. Yes we are migrating to a bigger badder website. Yes, it's 2g not 1g and the product shots are all outdated (update in the works). Yes, we're gettin' there...

Kavalactone content remains the same in all generations of extract with a stable 120+mg per gram dose.

email us at relax at paradisekava.com  with specific questions about customs please.
