Bula all! I'm looking to continue being in the Kava Ceremonies and Circles on Wednesday nights.
Who's able and interested in joining the groups on Wednesday nights at 8pm CST? If there's a week I'm not doing one, or if I am, either way I'll make a post about it as early in the day as I can get online, may be as late as five hours advanced notice, but I'll practice consistency with informing the community whether there is one or not that week. My goal is to keep a great thing going.
I found that over the years this group has helped me immensely. I received support and heard familiar voices when I had covid, I learned some information about kraptom which for me was need-to-know, it kind of pulled me away from the fire a bit. The Kava Circle has helped me with sobriety as well, very much so. I learned half of what I know about kava on those meetings and I consider that one of the most valuable resources - education, humanity, I love how it's been the same people for so long, and that occasionally newcomers jump on and then we've got actual kava growers showing kava plants in the country they are from, be it Vanuatu, Fiji, Tonga, or Hawaii - that's exciting stuff to me and I am not ready to give it up.
I noticed the group is being hosted on Saturday nights, and I work that night. This past Saturday, I was at my job pretty late into the night, about 100EST and I had to eat dinner, wash up, too, so I really started thinking: How can I participate in this group, which is so meaningful to me without it interfering with my job? Here are some solutions I've come up with as well as other thoughts I'd like to express before posting my thread here on Kava Forums - I may occasionally be able to take a Saturday off. Also, it looks like for only twenty US dollars a month, I can get the Zoom premium upgrade which lets me host meetings without that silly time limit. Here's my remaining thoughts:
There were a few meetings this year I wasn't able to attend. I apologize for that, I was in between phones and internet service and many of you who have seen me in the groups this year may know I'm living in a better home now, and I'm happier and living a better life now than in previous years - I love Wednesday night because I go out of town and visit my dad and have campfires and cook steaks over the fire on Tuesday nights, and I work Friday, so I like having Wednesday night as my Kava Circle, since I can sleep in the next morning.
Anyway, yeah, I'm gonna wrap this post up and go check to see if a meeting is being hosted tonight. I got a computer finally, and now a web cam, but still need a microphone - I'm starting fresh with it. My main point is that the meetings have helped me in more ways than one - my family gets excited when I tell them about the Wednesday Night Kava Circle, they can hear the excitement in my voice. I'm not a big social media person so this is all I got for connecting with other people. For now, I'll continue my ritual of having a shell of kava between the hours of 800 and 100CST and continue reserving the time, it is a lot better with a few other people on too to give my Kava session the backbone and the structure.
