Worldwide shipping costs

I just recently came across a couple of Kava vendors that offer free worldwide shipping. It makes a massive difference to the overall price of Kava as delivery charges to Europe, for example, are often pretty high. Take nakamal@home, for example, their delivery costs to Europe are ~$40, even if you only buy a couple of sample packs of their instant. That makes ordering from them a total non-starter for me. On the other hand IslandKava and VanuatuKavaStore offer free delivery regardless of the order size. 
According to the VanutuKavaStore's website, they have some kind of special arrangement with their post office to provide international shipping for a minimal fee. I wonder if that's something that other kava vendors could take advantage of rather than using the standard postal service?

That's 500g of 'Instant' though, which is a decent price.

I'm pretty sure Island Kava's "instant" is simply micro-ground kava root.

Canada is bit cheaper at $11.95
We end up paying for shipping quite a bit and it's ok since people like it. (smiley: happy)

I thought it was a long shot, but just wondered if there were some special postal deal some vendors were getting that could be taken advantage of by all. If it can't be done, it can't be done (smiley: smile)



One of the annoying things about buying from my country is that once the cost of purchase goes over ~$50 - $60, the boys in customs become interested, and they add the shipping cost into the overall price of the product when calculating duty payable. Having to pay the extra import duty is annoying, but the bigger issue is that they might start asking questions about what's in the package!

I found and used an inexpensive shipping company to send my international packages. It is NoneNoneWhite House Shipping  if anyone cares.

A USPS " Priority Mail® International Flat Rate Envelope" costs 16,95. It has a maximum weight of 4 pounds. It should be no problem to send two packages (of each 1 Pound) in one of these envelopes. KavabyRex does it. And Paradise Kava also.



My advise for international buyers is to look carefully if the shipping costs increase when selecting 2 pounds instead of one. In my opinion there is no need for it. Only when the powder is too coarsely ground, it has more volume and maybe two pounds will not fit in the envelope.



a few words to the Vanuatu Kava Store:

Once they had a Malekula Magic for 35,- $ per pound with free shipping. This was the best Kava I ever had. In the meantime they increased their price to more than 60 Dollars. But what they now send is crap. I tested it 3 times, and it was always without any effect. The VKS is dead for me.
