i just received hiwa and hanakapi' ai in the mail today. So excited but i didn't want to be knocked out early after work tonight, as I got lots of errands to do, so I went w hiwa for the first couple shells and wow! Very strong compared to the boronguru I just had from kwk. Don't get me wrong kwk is very good but Ghk is a lil better. The strains prolly make a difference also and prolly had a lil reverse tolerance this last month so I'm defiantly not hating and will gladly try it again once I'm out. All I can say is thank you Chris. I'm defiantly feeling myself after 2 shells of hiwa. Can't wait to try the hanakapi tonight, I bet it's gonna knock my socks off!

No worries - the best part of kava is trying out different varieties, vendors, and even different batches of the same kava to find what works for you. GHK has many great kavas but so do the other vendors as well. At this point I have 4 different varieties from 3 different vendors in my pantry...all good! You may also find that switching from one kava to another brings back benefits that seem to taper off after having the same kava multiple days/weeks in a row. For example Mahakea is still my all time favorite, but I find that after a week or two of daily drinking it loses some of its luster. If I switch to a nice Fijian for a bit and then come back to it the luster comes back....

Not sure that you can extrapolate "KWK is better than GHK" from that datum, "Nene feels more powerful than Borongoru." The idea is true only as far as it goes. It's really more like "Borongoru does what is supposed to do, average strength balanced kava, whearas Hiwa does what it is supposed to do, as a strong and heavy kava." They are both good at what they are supposed to do. It's not that one is better than the other, but rather, one is more appropriate to your needs and desires at a particular moment. I think almost all of us have our Hiwa moments and a lot of folks also have their Borongoru moments. As for the companies, all I can say about both is they have excellent customer service, and each offer mostly kava that can be called excellent and maybe a tiny number here and there which are only very very good, which is still, as its description implies, very very good. Of course, anyone can have preferences but it's tricky to infer anything or generalize from it. For example, I love Namabawan, and it is excellent and also my favourite kava, but there are many people for whom it is or would be completely inadequate and maybe even contraindicated.

fwiw I try very hard never to drink the same kava two days in a row. When a new amazing variety comes out, sometimes this is really hard to do.
