I recently developed a yellowish tinge on all my finger nails and would like to find the cause of it. Has anyone else experienced this from Kava use? I've been consuming kava daily for a couple months so suspect it is this.
It would make sense, since kava stains my strainer bags yellow pretty quickly...
...on the other hand, I haven't been wearing gloves at all for the last 12 months and don't notice any discoloration on my nails or hands, just age.
It could be kava. But I kneaded my kava without gloves for quite a while before I started using gloves, and did not get yellow nails. But (if you happen to be female) painting your nails can supposedly make them yellow after you remove the nail polish. The cure for this is to soak your nails in lemon juice. However yellow nails can also be caused by diseases such as diabetes. Have you had your blood sugar checked recently?

I don't really knead as I either use micro/instant or I use the alluball for medium. I haven't applied any nail polish(am male) In the literature for possible side effects lists:
"Taking kava continuously for a long time may cause reddened eyes, dry/scaly skin, or yellowing hair/skin/nails"
