Blood work after about a years worth of kava.

Just had blood work done, have been drinking kava daily for about a year now (bit under). Also remember reading that kava drinkers had elevated red blood cells on pubmed, apparently not related to kava. My liver and kidneys all look good. ALT is elevated because of a hard weight training session the night before (it can cause slightly high readings unrelated to liver function) Did not check cholesterol but will be doing that next time as i have heard of some other people complaining of cholesterol elevations on kava. I do know that last time i had blood work done my cholesterol was normal, but i don't have the numbers exactly.

Always glad when people post these. I really don't know what to look at on it, reference-wise...but I looked up '59 ALT' on google and found a quote from a doctor saying it's considered "very very slightly above normal". I think your test is a good one for us to see, because if I'm not mistaken, you drink high doses of kava and concurrently take phenibut, (and possibly another benzo?)...plus the weight training you mention.
So even though the result wasn't absolutely perfect, you don't sound worried.
How long had it been since you drank any kava, before you get tested ?

I'm gonna be getting this done in a week or two finally and will post my results, but I have reason to believe there might be something wrong with mine.

i think about 9 hrs. Yes, alt if ALWAYS elevated in people who routinely weightlift and it has nothing to do with liver function.

And i take a lot of phenibut, so many people claim it causes liver damage but nobody so far has shown blood work to back that up. I've also recently taken drugs for a period of six weeks, ending use less then 4 weeks ago, that can damage the liver (not mentioning what it is but trust me, they are hepatotoxic) but hey i have an iron liver lol. I have taken benzos but their use is very intermittent, and afaik they are not hepatotoxic to any substantial degree.

What is your cause for concern if you don't mind me asking?
