Getting a live kava plant?

Hello all. I'm new here, so please forgive me if this is an ignorant question, but does anyone know where I can get a live kava plant? I've been searching Google exhaustively, and every source has either sold out its plants or is a scam. A source for cuttings would also be okay.

Sometimes eBay, but, good luck getting a plant to thrive on the mainland.

Seems like the only ebay vendor disappeared. Perhaps @Gourmet Hawaiian Kava knows where you can get some. Repeated exposure to sub-40 temps will likely kill kava

I will likely be growing it in a greenhouse or indoors--winters are very cold where I live (Missouri), but the summers are quite warm. Do people on this site generally give away cuttings, or is that frowned upon?

Grab a plane ride to Fiji or Tonga and be discrete on the way back.

Alas, I am but a poor college student. Can barely afford an Uber ride, let alone a plane ride.
