Kava Curious
Whats the difference, as well do both of these just have water added to them and you drink them straight or are you supposed to strain them?

Hey, @taylor !

Instant kava is when the manufacturer has brewed traditional kava, and then removed all the water. The resulting powder can be mixed in with water just like you would mix up chocolate milk or something. No kneading or anything.

Micronized kava is when the manufacturer takes regular old kava root and grinds it up very finely. You can also mix this up in water just like you would chocolate milk. The instant will be a little finer, and will be about 1.5 the strength of micronized. Micronized is probably the best way to go for a newbie from both a cost perspective and ease of use.

You can drink it straight; no need to strain them or use any hot water. Just mix with cold water and drink. You'll be glad you picked cold instead of hot water with kava, as the hot water will make it taste like something straight out of hell.

Enjoy, and let us know if you have any other questions :)

@Runding I do want to clarify just a little bit.
Yes some people do just grind and grind kava up and call it micro in the end after it is very fine. (enjoy your gulp of finely powdered makas :()
While other vendors are truly removing all or most of these makas/fibers.

Here is a quick picture of over 50% of the kava weight being fibers removed in a quality micro I sell. Chris can probably also provide some pictures upon request of his makas being removed and not ground into the micro.

The nice thing about the GHK kava, is that you are getting 100% pure kava with no extra fibers and crap. On a price vs effects basis, it is very cost effective.
