Hi people!

We are a video game company that are working on a title that fits pacific traditions. We are looking at owning a very nice, big and fancy Tanoa. Do you guys have some cues about how to get in touch with some local genuine craftsman? (budget is not an issue)

Here is an example of what we are searching for:

Thanks!

For a real ornate rarity the Hawaiian Kānoa (k = t, here) is nice.
The one I attach was commissioned in 1996 to a carver here using pictures
from Bishop Museum and/or Margaret Titcomb's Kava in Hawai'i.
Cost for a carver to do this then was $5,000.00
It would be a bit of work cause you'd need to decide on design
(there are several and all unique) and then find a carver.
Picture here not so good but each leg has a Hawaiian god depiction on the spherical (sp) part.

Is it made from koa wood?
