#Microns on a knee high

I can't believe how strong a knee high nylon batch is compared to a muslin bag. About how many microns is this?

I'd guess about 50. Just a guess. They do stretch over time somewhat.

It's not a fishnet stocking, is it?

heh, heh, heh, he said the word "fishnet". Is it strong because more powder is in the grog and you are toss and washing? No law against that. If your tummy don't mind then your mind don't mind.

I don't know the micron size but I used to just use a single knee high, not even doubled up, and that let through way too much sediment for me (I realised in the end). The best strainer I have found so far are the ones from cactus kava.

Nylon stockings have rectangular holes that are "30-36 microns verticaly and 90-120 microns horizontaly":

However they are stretchy, so the "effective" micron size--that is the size of particles that can squeeze through the holes, is certainly much larger.

Even with all the sediment it's still world's away from toss and wash. When I remove the spent kava there is STILL a ton of sharp, pointy, wood chip looking plant matter that remains.
