We are definitely interested in having access to more Sāmoan kava and we will surely buy some of your root, if it is produced properly. We are major kava enthusiasts here so not only do we care about having a good and safe product for our own personal consumption, but also for the industry as a whole and to maintain it's 'legal status' in much of of the world.

From checking out the website, it looks like you might be a Chinese company based out of Sāmoa. In our experience, Chinese companies haven't had great kava products or shown any true reverence for the plant, it's safe usage or it's tradition. Typically we see Chinese kava extracts or powders that may or may not be made from the appropriate parts of the plant or possibly not even the correct cultivars...or even species. -- Being that you seem to just be selling a few organic local crops, it seems more likely that the kava could be good. I'll let you tell us...

Sorry, we scrutinize vendors pretty hard here, but please feel free to respond and give all the details you can give about your history with kava and knowledge about it and your product.
We would also love to hear details about the 'ava you sell, how it's produced etc... For example:
  • Does all of your kava root come from Sāmoa only? Never blended with imported kava from elsewhere?
  • What are the names of the cultivars you sell?
  • Is it tested for mold/heavy metals/contamination?
  • Do you have HPLC results that give the Chemotype and Kavalactone percentage?
  • Is the kava powder made of only root & stump material? No leaves or stems.
  • If it's all shipped out Sāmoa, what would the shipping prices be for 500g or 1Kilo to the USA?
Thanks for your answers and welcome aboard. ::happyshell:: ::tanoafull:: ::shaka::

Does all of your kava root come from Sāmoa only? Never blended with imported kava from elsewhere?
Samoa legally registered factory, kava root, no other additions to mix.

Is tested for mold/heavy metals/contamination?
There are no such certificates in Samoa, but there are other related certificates.

Do you have HPLC results that give the Chemotype and Kavalactone percentage?
Not have these.

Is the kava powder made of only root & stump material? No leaves or stems.
Only kava root.

If it's all shipped out Sāmoa, what would the shipping prices be for 500g or 1Kilo to the USA?
about 70 usd per 1kg.

Thanks for the response, it was helpful. (y)
If you don't mind, I've got a couple follow-up questions:
- Have you started your own kava farm that all the kava comes from? Or do you buy the kava from established local Samoan kava farmers?
- If you are buying from other Samoan kava farmers, do you buy it from them as whole roots and then grind it in your factory, or do you buy it already ground/powdered from the farmer?
- Do you know how long the plants have been growing before they have been harvested?
- Do you drink kava?

You could probably send some samples of your kava to a lab in Fiji or the United States, to find out the chemotype and kavalactone percentage, I would recommend adding a link to the results to your website.

And since we love kava so much here, if you could ever post some pictures of the kava plants growing in Samoa, we'd really love to see them.
Thanks ::tipshat::::shell:: ::kavaleaf:: ::kavaleaf:: ::kavaleaf::

You could also Pm/Dm Shakas for his shipping details and send him a few samples. He will do many informal tests ::chugger:: and an acetone test for the rest of us, it would probably speed up marked confidence around here, these guys have been drinking kava for a long, long time. I imagine shipping to LA is the cheapest option in the US, next to Hawaii..:angelic

Samoaorigins Kava powder mixed from base root and lateral root.
Have you considered setting aside some of the lateral and base roots to sell on their own? A blend is good but there are people who prefer one or the other. There are also occasions which are best enhanced by one or the other, as well as purposes.

You can contact our business staff to inquire about customization. Usually we sell already packaged versions.
Also, the production cost of kava in Samoa may be a bit higher than elsewhere.
