are on an ad hoc basis now and the way to convene one is start in the afternoon to russle people up, both here and in the nakamal chat area several hours before.

The mobile version of Hangouts works sort of like a messaging app. You can send invites to people in your contacts lists, and if you get a message your phone will alert you. Sort of a modern nakamal light.

Any night is good for me, so I can't vote for one night. I don't know about the Hangouts thing, but virtual meetings can be held in Secondlife if you don't mind joining for free and having a silly avatar that doesn't look like you. Chatting can be done by Voice or Text whilst you meet by a virtual Ocean sitting on a virtual deck chair.

@PaulGUK, the link at the beginning of this thread goes to Google Hangouts. It's pretty much like Skype.
