Depends on the strain. I find that I can stand higher doses of heavy kava more than heady kava, as headyness sometimes makes me feel nauseous.

I think the Romans use to drink their Kava in buckets ... Of course, they invented vomitoriums and it was considered cool to hurl in a formal area reserved for that. Then they would go back and get another bucket.
