Is it saying that traditional preparation yields no methysticin!?
The study by Xuan is saying that. However I think the results of that paper are questionable, and are contradicted by other results. In particular, @Deleted User has measured kavalactone profiles of instant kava (which is essentially dehydrated traditional prep) using HPLC, and found that KL levels are the same as kava powder (including methysticin levels).
