Yea there is something magical about kava lol.. It's subtle but teaches you a lot you can say it's like a spiritual band aid lol

Yes . Very much like a spiritual bandage. But you have to already be open to it. Which isnt a choice . It just means you have suffered enough . Probably many lifetimes and consciousness is now awakening through humans who have suffered to the Point of acceptance of what is. Which then allows consciousness which is no different from acceptance itself to flow into this world. Kava can be a portal to that, but only if your ready. Otherwise it's just a very nice herb that help alleviate the self but they don't know that's why they feel good . It just seems to be the kava itself . Rather than kava opening something in you.

@ mr. Binx definitely..ppl have spiritual experiences while on drugs but don't know what to call it so they just say i felt out of this world lol..kava is interesting and unpredictable.. Kava is relaxing and stress relieving type and healing. Stimulants are for deep contemplation. Lsd is for self discovery and inspiration. Etc it seems that every plant has a lesson to teach. But kava is a pretty unique teacher

This is what I think. Don't substitute your walks with Kava. You should be able to release a significant amount of tension in your walks and be more open to feeling the interconnection with all things. Kava helps me relax afterwards and open up even more. I will not substitute Kava with things like walking, they work in synergy.

I find myself to be the most spiritual when walking, but not when taking a substance. How can I become spiritual while drinking kava?

Have you tried walking with kava then :)?

Every substance has a different personality and state of consciousness that syncs with it. Kava is much higher than alcohol and cannabis. Meaning you can maintain a higher level of alertness and therefore presence with kava than many other substances.
But ..
But.. kava is not the source of anything. It simply calms the mind and open's up the energy channels in the body, this is helpful for presence but is not presence itself. Only you are.
Does this make sense @melanin_

To be spiritual all that is needed is complete acceptance of WHAT ALREADY IS. Kava or not

Unique & Passionate.
Yes, I understand. The mind is the catalyst of spirituality, and kava may aid the mind in the direction that is more prone to eliciting spiritual-ness!

I enjoy rowing after some kava. That's about as spiritual as I need an experience to be.

For me it enhances my zazen, I suppose after an hourish or so with the help of Kava I enter a state of complete non attachment. It's like everything looks strange almost alien after, all thoughts, feelings, images, and I am able to easily recognize that none of this lasts or even matters.

Kava does put you in a great frame of mind for mediation. But on my Kava days, I find myself thanking my creator (whoever that is) for another fantastic day. And for most humans, just being in good health and being relatively happy is plenty to be thankful for.

@nickbroken you sit in meditation after kava?

I think it is a great aid to ease the monkey mind. It seems like low doses would be ideal otherwise the attention can be overpowered by krunkyness and would be hard to sit.
I try to meditate daily for about an hour, it can either be meditation or zazen. I find kava helps both immensely, maybe more so meditation. Meditation is more of eyes closed and focusing on some aspect or sensation, mantra, etc. I am actually about to meditate right now, I have had about a tablespoon of 11 year waka. It is a very relaxing kava and I think will work well with this. I don't think all kava will work well with meditation, however. I will report back after meditating, trying to sound deep or prolific or some such nonsense.
