Fascinating video. I've never heard Forney Kava. Can anyone help with some questions I have:
  • Would I be right in assuming this is micronized kava?
  • Who sells this stuff?
  • Do they also sell the 3 types of strainer cloths?
  • Why does this kava not require kneading?
  • Has any board member tried this kava? If so, how would you rate it?

Well I'm pretty sure he is just an exporter, and a cursory google search led me to see that he supplies fresh root (frozen), powdered kava, "Five Star Kava" extract, and an instant kava. I'm guessing the product shown in the above video was an instant. By the way, the minimum orders are 20kg and 10kg for the instant.

Just put in a request for a quote on the 10kg of instant, purely out of curiosity. It's made out of boroguru and melomelo. Now I want some :(

I'm still having trouble understanding what form of kava this is. The quick kava from VKS is instant - just add water, shake and drink - no straining required. I have heard of micronized kava that can be used as toss and wash or strained, but if strained it requires kneading. Hence my confusion as to just what this kava is.

Ive had it just the once, i would liken it to powdered milk in its properties. The one i tried needed no straining what so ever which was quite odd i felt but it all dissipated into the water well. It was very good strength as far as powdered kava goes. Prob the strongest ive had.

That Part IV video above is the Gospel according to Lebot. Like any pissed-off scientist, his main objection is over the misuse of language, and he makes a compelling argument towards a very strict definition of the term "kava."
