Powdered Kava Review Melo Melo

I do have to add that besides from the hangover, nausea and insomnia it gave me. If you can get past the taste then I'm sure some daytime drinkers will enjoy the effects of it. I just wish it didnt taste so awful

Great Review!! (y) If you ask, you might find someone willing to buy or trade with you. I've done it in the past with pretty good success (but thanks to your review I'm not interested in Melo Melo :))

I am actualy enjoying the feeling of this kava now as I did the last time I drank it.......... A nice floaty light feeling but there is a bit of an edgyness to it. Now that the repulsion of the taste has wore of I can enjoy its effects. I've drank it earlier than last time anticipating it keeping me awake. The last time I had it, when I got up the next day the effects were still there in full effect, at first this was welcomed as it was a nice chilled out feeling but then as the day went on I felt more and more nauseous, just generally unwel realy....... I supose as you do with an awful alcohol hangover, lets see if this happens again. Hopefuly not as in limiting my intake and won't be drinking anymore of it today

That's what I normally do. I've been mixing my Koniak with other stuff for like ever and still have some laying around.

Yeah I just want to jump in and say that this stuff is pretty vile (the new batch anyway, I don't recall the older batches having such a nasty taste). I actually finished a 1/2 kilo of melo melo recently and it had this weird "wet dog" smell when prepared that is hard to describe, it is really unlike any kava I have ever smelled. I've tried all of BKH's kava varieties and melo melo is easily the worst tasting one. I can't believe the packaging touts it as being mild and "almost sweet". The positive side is that I always got an epic head buzz from drinking melo melo, but man that taste is just hard to get over.

Yes, I also found the info on the website very misleading. When I ordered melo I thought it would be a smooth, milky-type kava (a bit like some of the better tongans). Instead I got the worst-tasting, most heavy-hitting hardcore powder. Smelled awful, tasted even worse. Hit me really hard, but not necessarily in a pleasant way. I felt tired and heavily "intoxicated" for the whole evening and the effects stayed with me for at least another day. My feeling is that that particular batch was either pure tudei or tudei-spiked melo. If I am mistaken and if it really was a pure noble hava then I cannot imagine what a tudei would taste and feel like.

New batch of Melo Melo on the way. It will be 50% lateral roots, 50% chips, giving it a milder taste. We've also been guaranteed 100% noble, which is why it will be about $4 more per pound.

Was just thinking about getting some melo melo this week, i'll hold out until the new batch arrives. HAven't had it for a while but I didn't have any negative experiences with it. It was actually one of the more notable experiences i've had with kava in general. r

Say, @Judd Rench When is the new batch arriving? Next week sometime (crossing fingers)?
