Captain kava: I don't know anything about them, but just based on the web site, and the other things they sell, and the fact that they call it "dabs", I would not buy from them. It looks like a "legal highs" peddler. It might actually be a quality product, they say they use CO2 extraction, which is good, I have no idea, but their marketing is a huge turn off.

Paradise Kava extracts on the other hand are well regarded here.

I tried the kava extract paste sold by the people who make the Magic Flight Launch Box and the Muad Dib vaporizers. A tiny piece of the extract (like half a grain of rice) vaporized in the Muad Dib did have some kava action. It was fast in onset and went away pretty quickly too. I didn't buy it, Nic at Melo Melo Kava Bar in Berkeley let me try it on his setup. Was interesting.

Tbh. that was my very first experience with Kavalactones ever. Apparently it was over 80% oil so I took eqivalent of rice size scoop as directed. Well I must addmit retrospectively it was quite decent introduction to Kava and nothing else. No stomach upset, no 'hangover' on next day nice warming serenity but... it is not the same.

I paid aprox. +£20 for 3 grams for disgusting looking something (looked and tasted like ear wax!) but it served its purpose. I was missing this special ritual of preparation and finally savouring each mouthful. I felt quite uncomfortable numbnes in mouth and around lips... nothing pleasent

very weird, but interesting non the less...
I still dont get the hole smoking/vapping kava? it doesnt seem right...or somthing idk!
Not even sure how it would be absorbed,,Iv read it goes through the mucus membranes in the tongue and mouth?
Idk...it does look packaged as a legal high for sure, but the product according to the description sounds ok..
I still think I would have to always drink or take extract under tongue, anything smoking wise seems to weird for me lol...

Bradley666 I think it's virtually impossible to keep the pulp under your tongue for long as it's pretty strong itching. I'd recommend chewing/sucking but as i described above it causes very uncomfortable numbness.
... and yeah smoking shouldn't be considered at all. I read on one of forums that one bought some kava (and emphasised that it was a good quality one:cautious:), soaked it with 70% warm isopropyl, filtred out slurry extract... and smoked it.
You never know, maybe my +80% extract was made in a similar way... never ever.

jeez...
I didn't mean I would ever put this' product under my tongue! lol...
I was using paradises extracts as an example :) They say under your tongue, works for some people...some
cant get the sub-lingual effects...everyone's different lol
As for me, I cant say enough about the paradise kava's extract! After trying it ,there's no doubt that its very noble...very pure!
Contains a really good amount of kavalactones per gram! The effects have got to be some of the most pleasant, pure, state of bliss with a good amount of euphoria, with even some light body relaxation effects...
I would use the extract every single day,in between using the traditional method if,I only had a GIANT amount of this extract!
A peanut butter sized jar is whats its all about! :D
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, I have only got a little bit left of the lemon/Hawaiian honey stuff left...the way they combined all this together to make this extract is rediculas, even the smell is enough to wipe away any bad feelings or thoughts and put a smile on ur face :)

I feel compelled to point out to anyone reading this that whoever did that was doing a really dumb thing. Isopropyl alcohol is not for human consumption, and smoking kava that way is missing the point of kava. There is a legitimate kava vaping liquid sold by a vendor here, if people really want to inhale their kava instead of drinking it.

Yeah, alcohol for extraction is really dangerous, I think. Alcohol and kava fight for the same metabolic pathways. Ugh. I feel sick thinking about it.

Water is best for extraction. It's the way it's always been done.

Kava's never been smoked, traditionally. In fact, the heat level (454 F) takes the kavalactones well above the temperatures at which molecular changes occur and kavalactones cease to be kavalactones.

I would discourage both over health concerns.

Let me make sure things are clear and understood the way I intended.
1st - I never intended to smoke or vape Kava, I think Kava should be used as close to or as traditional as possible.
I was just looking at some of the concentrates as a fast and convenient way to have kava on the go, have a small effective amount inside of a capsule, directly in the mouth or mixed into a tea.
Smoking kava sounds dangerous & I don't think it was ever intended to be used or absorbed this way.

I've only tried the pastes from N@H. They had one a while back that was pretty good, but they don't make
it anymore. They also made an instant called Shaman that was just instant Stone. *THAT* stuff was great!
Stone tends to give my stomach the fits, but Shaman didn't at all. Of course, they don't make it anymore. :(

In a moment of curiosity a few years back I decided to try to see what it would be like just smoking the ground
root. Used a good quality root (Stone, IIRC), mixed with some shredded mullein leaf to hold it together,
and rolled up a spliff. It didn't occur to me at the time that high temps pretty much destroy the 'lactones.

Holy CRAP. That was profoundly awful. Tasted like ASS, harsh smoke, no effects. Very, very,
bad idea. Kids, don't try this at home....

I've used captain kava (orally and vaped), and it's fun and gives you a buzz, not as strong as wow kava per say but its fun. I am yet to try organicspiceblend's co2 but I plan on it since it is much more affordable than captain. any questions about captain I'd be happy to answer.

I heard that (p word) aspect of kava is greatly enhanced when smoked, bringing on mild visual distortions and pseudo-hallucinations. Did you find this the case?

I tried the chocolate mint extract from Paradise Kava. I found that it did not work for me. I much rather do the traditional method.
